Banana Yum-Yum

We don’t need processed, artificially sweet indulgences - our bodies love the simplicity and our taste buds crave sweet deliciousness

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe organic banana

  • 1/2 tsp of coconut oil or organic ghee (I use tasteless as in the picture, to receive the full sweet banana flavour and avoid the coconut taking over but choose your own indulgence)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 4 strands of saffron

  • 1/2 tsp of cardamom

  • 1/2 tsp ginger (if you’re not a ginger fan sub in another spice or just omit)

  • 3/4 cup of hot water

    # Play around with the fruit you choose, I’ve enjoyed kiwifruit (skin included), berries, pawpaw, and the combination of all these with banana. If you’re making a bigger batch, add more spice to your taste, but definitely add more!

Instructions:

  • Soak the saffron strands in the water overnight.

Warming, and very beneficial for your digestive health 🌿

  • Heat the coconut oil or ghee in a pan on your stove. Sprinkle in your spices, cooking gently for a minute. Chop the fruit of your choice and put this in, with the saffron water, cooking on medium to low heat until your fruit is softened.

  • There will be lots of liquid for your drinking pleasure and gut hydration.

Serve with raw cow’s milk yoghurt, overnight groats or simply eat as is 🍌
