You cannot choose everything that comes your way nor all the situations life brings you. But what you CAN choose is stronger than any circumstance or other person’s opinion.
I can choose to pay close attention to my energy levels, my hunger cues and my intentions and how I respond to what I feel there 🌱
It’s never going to be too late to make a different choice 🌿
When I actually connect to my intention for my morning, afternoon and following day - I come back to my inner knowledge & knowing with deepened positivity, perspective and conviction.
I've found the best way to provide for your ability to choose your response over just reacting, is to be present.
Yes, it's that old adage that comes back to greet us - "Be in the Moment". The most simple starting strategy to begin to be present is just 2 minutes away. Allow yourself to take one minute in the morning and one minute in the evening, out of your busy schedule to gift yourself with presence and you will reap so many rewards in terms of your health both physical and mental, your clarity of thought, your ability to make choices that serve you well and your ability to cope and enjoy those events that may appear as "stressful" and that use to drive you towards unhelpful foods and choices.
Let's try it out - find at comfortable place to sit for the next minute. Breathe in through your nose for the count of four, hold that breath in your belly for a slow count of seven, and then exhale through your mouth with an auditory release for a slow count of eight. Repeat this 4 times.
If you put this two minute breath pattern into your daily habit for three weeks or so, you will notice that even when you are not performing this task you receive this overall calmness through your whole body. You then have this magic tool to use before any stressful situation or decision and you will find that you are indeed able to think clearly and make more effect decisions.
