Component Nutraceuticals - Will they Amplify the Benefits of your already Healthy Lifestyle

 

You’re eating plenty of plants, hydrating with filtered water, prioritising sleep, have your fitness regime in check, exposing yourself to the sun often, avoiding over-exposure to EMF and embracing the nurturing primacy of being in your flow state often. Checking in with your scheduled life and making sure it doesn’t overwhelm you too often.

Ok, personally I have contented all the requirements of being a health-geek, except my overwhelm. I love saying “yes” and say it often as life excites me and I love being involved! There is a huge internal battle manifested by the bustling and pulls in today’s world. I speak and refer often, to the syndrome of the “Urgent Woman ”, in my courses for hormonal balance. I do attest to meeting a similar brand of men also. Putting career and family aside it can be an arduous task ticking all the above boxes, especially when travelling.

My life has steadily demanded increased travel and this means that I needed to find a solution to my quest to meet my individual health and energy sustainability needs via phytonutrients. I have in the past shied away from component nutraceuticals - you know the all in one “Green Powders,” preferring to add selective and isolated nutritional supplements. But in this ever changing world, if we are to survive and thrive, we need to not only embrace but also experiment with new ideas to meet and counterbalance obstacles in our progression.

In our modern, post-industrial, polluted, toxin-laden environment there is an solid argument that we need more nutrients than food can provide. I utilise the wisdom of our ancestors to optimise by my own life and that of my clients, but I also measure this with ‘higher living through science”. Ancient supplements and elixirs included root, stem, leaf and concentrated oil extracts. They were supplemented for medicinal and symptom pathology. Perhaps we hesitate on taking modern day supplements because of their packaging and the deceptive tactics that some supplement companies employ. But I now feel strongly about the role for the selected and pulsed use of both single and component nutraceuticals, vitamins, antioxidants and minerals.

I came across several meta-analysis and other nutritional studies emphasising the importance of the additive or synergistic effect of multiple nutrients, whole food and whole food concentrates with their nutrient combinations in a natural complex form to support modern fast paced life. These studies reinforce the consensus opinion that the benefit is much stronger when the phyto-nutrition of multiple fruits and vegetables are considered together rather than when consumed as isolated nutrients.

I now upgrade my nutrition when I am travelling with a green superfood supplement. Even when I am eating healthy whilst not at home, i can’t often shop at local markets and our veggies lose a ton of their nutritional value sitting on the shelf or in the refrigerator for days before we eat them. Not all of us have the time or the means to always source fresh organic vegetables … especially when building a business … which is why i’ve chosen to take advantage of a green super-food powder on days when I know that pushing for the perfect tick of every health-geek box will actually add more overwhelm to that day than I can justify.
